Gordon’s Bio:
Former director of marketing for Tommy Hilfiger, Gordon Pennington is an international consultant to corporations, governments and institutions. His clients have included J.P. Morgan, Chase, CBS, British Airways, Mercedes Benz and others. He currently serves with Burning Media Group in New York.
When asked about truth, Pennington remarked: “Truth is the search for the things that are most reliable, sustainable, absolute. Truth is the desire to have something that we really can put our trust in. Truth deserves to be tested. Truth is being tested in this age like no other. The pursuit of truth ultimately necessitates a kind of struggle … The risks of pursuing truth are tremendous and what could be a greater adventure than to risk everything in pursuit of the one thing that endures.”
Along with his career in marketing and communications, Pennington is a trustee of The Universal Literacy Project and has gained a rich understanding of the significance of literacy as a fundamental civil right, with particular interest in the international educational setting. Pennington studied human rights law at the University of Strasbourg.
As a lecturer on cultural communications, Pennington was recently a featured speaker on “Culture and Communication” at the annual International Arts Movement conference in New York, and addressed screenwriters at Fordham University and in Hollywood, California on the theme of “Culture and Media Influence” for the Act One Screenwriters program. He has lectured at Cambridge, Oxford, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, and several other universities. In addition, he has spoken at the White House on cultural issues.
